The meaning of Bolden

A word, and
what it asks of you

Bold

To act with courage, confidence and conviction when pursuing an ambitious idea or challenge.

To Bolden

To create opportunity through trust and shared knowledge.

The Bolden Network at a glance

A curated pan-African
community of trusted
leaders and institutions

The Bolden Network is a carefully curated pan-African community of trusted leaders, founders and builders, where trust earned in one community travels across borders, industries and opportunities.

Bolden transforms individual reputation into collective opportunity.

Why Bolden exists

Trust is one of the world's most valuable forms of capital, yet it rarely travels on its own.

A leader may be highly respected within a city, industry or country, but beyond those circles their reputation often has to be established again. At the same time, many conventional networks favour size, visibility and transactional access over judgement, context and trusted relationships.

Bolden exists to change that. The network provides a trusted environment in which credible leaders can recognise one another, learn from one another and create meaningful opportunities together.

Our purpose and positioning

Trust Must Travel

To equip trusted leaders with the relationships, recognition and confidence to think bigger, act decisively and create opportunity across industries and borders.

Bolden makes this principle operational through carefully selected membership, confidential peer forums, trusted introductions, Sector Councils, Cross-Sector Leadership Councils, publishing, events and cross-border partnerships.

What Bolden offers

A coordinated system,
not a list of benefits

Bolden is not a collection of disconnected membership benefits. It is a coordinated system designed to turn trusted participation into better decisions, stronger relationships and practical opportunities.

Trusted PeersA carefully selected membership whose credibility is protected through nomination, review and approval.
Better DecisionsMonthly confidential CEO Forums that operate as practical peer-advisory groups, where members discuss real business and leadership challenges, learn from relevant experience and hold one another accountable.
Relevant AccessCurated introductions based on a genuine reason for two people to know one another. Bolden does not provide open access to a membership database or encourage indiscriminate networking.
Industry IntelligenceTwenty Priority Sector Councils connect leaders around industry-specific priorities, challenges and opportunities.
Cross-Sector CollaborationTen Cross-Sector Leadership Councils bring together members from different industries around shared national, leadership and commercial priorities.
Cross-Border ReachTrusted pathways into other Bolden countries and selected partner communities through the Bolden Alliance. We form strong alliances with other African member-based business communities on your behalf.
Global MatchmakingOur global reach goes way beyond the African borders. We actively connect and match with the African diaspora across the globe interested in doing business with Africa, as well as business communities in general that wish to invest in and do business with the African continent.
AuthorityPublishing, events, Power Breakfasts, CEO dinners and thought-leadership platforms make member expertise visible, credible and useful.

Bolden Botswana: The Founding Edition

A permanent record of
the leaders who built
the network

This publication is not simply a book produced after the network has been established. It is an important part of how Bolden will be launched, built and activated.

The first 100 Founding Members and Industry Ambassadors will be interviewed soon after joining. Their professionally developed thought-leadership profiles will be published through Bolden's website, digital platforms and social media before appearing in the premium hardcover publication.

The publishing model will be introduced where Global Village Publishing already has experience and relationships

Zambia Namibia Zimbabwe Mozambique Tanzania Uganda Kenya Rwanda Ghana Nigeria Angola Egypt

Each country edition will provide a practical roadmap for identifying Industry Ambassadors, recruiting Founding Members, securing institutional partners and beginning to build the local network.

What Bolden is not

The things we
deliberately are not

  • A mass-membership club
  • A lead-generation database
  • An open networking organisation
  • An events calendar
  • A pay-to-play awards platform
  • A platform where payment guarantees admission
  • A vehicle through which sponsors can purchase influence or member access

Bolden's value depends on curation, trust, confidentiality, contribution, independence and disciplined execution.

one ambassador each
